On the site of a former farmhouse this new house is in a rural landscape with open fields abutting a tidal marsh in Cape Elizabeth.
The building is an assemblage of structures which includes a garage/garden shed, an accessory dwelling unit, and the main house. Together they form an entry courtyard and engage with a series of outdoor rooms and gardens.
A combination of materials including white and grey corrugated metal, thermally modified siding and douglas fir posts and beams help breakdown the scale of the house and connect it with the surrounding landscape.
