The renovation of a mid century modern house built in 1960 by the owners family featured a butterfly roof and a concrete block wall at the intersection of the two roofs. The concrete block wall had been replaced with a wood wall with large awning windows with views of the ocean, and the butterfly roof restored with a membrane roof and a water collection system.
Located directly on Johns Bay the existing house has been completely renovated. The addition provides a new entry, two additional bedrooms and bathrooms and a study. The exterior cladding is cedar shingles with extensive glass openings. The interior has pine board walls and maple floors. Wood decks are located on all four sides of the house.
